The Health Security Department at Townsville University Hospital provides 24-hour surveillance and emergency response services across Townsville HHS facilities. The Control Room Operator plays a vital role in monitoring CCTV, electronic access, duress alarms, and fire protection systems to ensure safety and security for staff, patients, and visitors.

Competitive salary and benefits

  • Salary between $2585.80 – $2710.40 per fortnight (OO3).
  • 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
  • Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity

As a Control Room Operator, you will monitor and respond to security systems including CCTV, duress alarms, and fire panels. You will support emergency responses, coordinate helicopter landings, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. This role is critical to maintaining a secure environment across Townsville HHS facilities.

Requirements

  • Ability to monitor and respond to ICT-based security systems.
  • Strong communication and incident reporting skills.
  • Current Class C driver's licence.
  • Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
  • Adherence to uniform and appearance standards.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • A probationary period may apply.
